Cruising (“the app”) helps you discover cocktail bars and collect the ones you visit. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. Data we collect
Account information: when you sign in with an email code, Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and, if you provide it through Apple/Google, your name.
Your content: your check-ins, your “would you return” ratings, your wishlist and your collection progress. You choose whether each check-in is public or private.
Location: used to show bars near you. If you grant location access we use an approximate location; without it we only use the city you select. We do not continuously track or store your movement history.
Photos (future feature): if you upload a venue photo it is kept in private storage and used only for your collection and for sharing you have agreed to.
Technical information: basic device and app-version information, plus logs used for operating and debugging the service.
2. How we use data
Providing and operating the core features of the app (discovery, map, check-ins, passport collection).
Authenticating your sign-in and protecting your account.
Improving quality and fixing problems.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not serve ads, and we do not run cross-site advertising tracking.
3. Processing and third parties
We use the following service providers, only as needed to provide the service:
Supabase (authentication and database, hosted on AWS Asia Pacific — Sydney)
Apple and Google (the third-party sign-in you choose to use)
Map tile providers (OpenStreetMap / CARTO and similar; displaying the map sends the necessary map requests)
4. Where data is stored and for how long
Your data is stored primarily in Supabase’s Asia Pacific — Sydney (ap-southeast-2) region. We keep it until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
5. Your rights
Access, correct or export your personal data.
Delete your account and the data attached to it.
To exercise these rights email cruisingbars@gmail.com and we will act within a reasonable period.
6. Age restriction
The app concerns alcoholic drinks and is intended only for people of legal drinking age (18+, or the age required where you live). Please drink responsibly.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
